IT WAS ALL A DREAM
DH started as a daydream as a frustrated college kid that grew even bigger as a frustrated employee.
For years I doubted myself, wondering if I actually could convert this passion project into a brand – an actual business that changed lives. This journey has been far from normal…
May 1, 2014: I launched my WordPress blog, “A Different Hunger”, as a senior at Emory University. My mom and her friends were my only readers for the next year.
March 25, 2016: I quit my job as a SaaS consultant in New York City and moved to Medellin, Colombia to escape rent prices and get started from scratch as a self-taught freelance designer.
April 17, 2017: After 12+ months of scraping by and working 70+ hours a week as a freelancer, mentors much starter than myself helped me build a team, agency and scale to 6-figures in revenue.
May 8, 2017: I registered Different Hunger Media, LLC. Blinded by excitement I posted my sexy, shiny new credit card on social media without blurring the numbers… talk about an epic fail
In 2017, we hired our first full-time employees, worked with 30+ customers and brought jobs to 40+ people.
What I’ve learned on my journey is the only sustainable path to freedom and fulfillment is the one that you define for yourself. You are the only person able to discover what your soul is hungry for.
